Ill Manors Film Review

Ill Manors is a urban crime drama which has been based in London. The title had come from a well know artist called Plan B which was based on the London riots that happened in 2011. It had many different famous actors in the movie, e.g. Riz Ahmed, who played the role of Aaron and Ed Skrein, who had played a role as Ed. Ed and Aaron are both good friends in the movie as they had both been bought into foster care when they were little as their parents couldn't be able to look after them.

At the beginning of the movie, it started of with Aaron and Ed who were standing on the road and giving out drugs to everyone they saw. However, this one suspicious person came up to them and asked if he could have some drugs. The main thing about this was that Ed didn't know this person because he had never come to him for drugs before and then found out that he was a policeman. Therefore, this led to him and Aaron running away from the officer and one of his other colleges who was in the car around the corner. However, while they were running away, the two main protagonists came to the locked gate-door and only had time for one of them to jump over. Therefore, Aaron jumped over and Ed gave him his phone and remaining drugs. To the viewers, they could already imagine that this movie was going to be a very brutal movie since there were already police involved in the beginning of the movie.

Also, another part in the beginning showed another man who went by the character name of 'Kirby'. This character was known to be one of the 'best' drug dealers and makers in the whole of East London. Sometimes, he would normally give this little child who went by the name of 'Chris', the drugs which he would then sell on to the others. However, in the basement where he would make the drugs, a police officer came and had arrested him for 15 odd years. When he came out, everything was okay for him because he knew that the once little boy, Chris, has it all covered.

Throughout the middle of the movie, there would be many different dramatically scenes that happened and had all linked up together very well. This one boy who wanted to get involved into gang violence had been given the mission to kill 'Kirby' by his so called 'gang leader'. The reason he had to kill him is because 'Kirby' had made that gang leader, strip naked because of the fact that he was selling drugs in Kirby's area. Therefore, got the teenager to do his 'dirty work'. So, that teenager went to the house of Kirby's. Instead of killing Kirby with the first bullet, he would accidentally shoot a girl who was also Kirby's house because Kirby had told her that she was pretty and wanted her to go to this 'fake' photoshoot company. After all of that, it turned out that that girl who Chris' sister and then would instantly get revenged on the two people who were involved in her manslaughter.

At the end of the movie, Ed had died as he has fallen of the pub that was caught on fire; He was trying to save a baby who had survived but he didn't. This shows that Ed's true colours were shown at the end of the movie because we, the audience, that that Ed was this monster because he gave this girl to several men for prostitution because he needed money for the girl to pay back losing his phone. However, we realised that Ed was a general nice person because he gave up his life to save a little child where as he could've just left her in the burning building and let her burn and rot. Also, we realise that Aaron was the most nicest person in the movie because of the fact that he was always there to help others out and even if it was against his own friends.
